Our Story
Founder Leann PhenixBook industry veteran Leann Phenix founded Phenix & Phenix Literary Publicists in 1994 with one client: author Janice Woods Windle. The wildly successful publicity campaign for Windle's first book, True Women, led to sales of more than 500,000 books and launched Windle's career as a novelist. True Women became a New York Times and USA Today bestseller, was translated into eight languages, and eventually became a 1997 CBS television mini-series. Not bad for a fledgling, boutique publicity firm.
In the last 15 years, Phenix & Phenix has grown into one of the most respected literary PR firms in the country. We routinely work with the industry’s largest publishing houses and independent presses, veteran and first-time authors, and we have tirelessly built relationships with media outlets across every format.
But more than anything, we take pride in promoting excellent books with positive messages. Every member of our team believes that books have the power to change lives, and we are dedicated to working with talented authors to take their stories everywhere.
